Meditation:
Meditation has the power to change how you view yourself, the world around you, and also you interact with life.
I offer meditation classes and courses based on the traditional teachings of Yoga, supported with modern day neuroscience. These practices can help you establish your own regular practice which will ultimately bring balance, harmony and wellbeing.
These practices work by using the breath as a way of harnessing the busy mind, from this point we can use different practices and techniques to quieten the busy, stressed and anxious mind and enliven the feeling and loving heart. I use a method of deconstructing undesirable qualities, habits and attachments with reconstructing the expansive, joyful and easeful energy of your own authentic expression.
In my classes we can explore many different themes and techniques from modern day afflictions of stress and overwhelm to exploring Yoga theory and philosophy including the subtle body, the Gunas, working with Prana, harnessing awareness and developing discernment and qualities like equanimity. Ultimately we seek to find balance in the energy of your body, mind and soul so you feel alert and focused as well as calm and grounded.
The whole system of Yoga is designed to take us into the state of Meditation. Therefore when we say ‘Yoga’ what we mean is a series of stages, a the journey to union, with the final and most poignant step being Meditation.
